Overview

Stix N Rice / Food Truck brings a vibrant taste of Filipino cuisine to the heart of Indianapolis, right at 1301 Barth Ave. This family-owned spot delivers authentic flavors through a diverse menu that oddly blends comfort with creativity. Whether you stop by after work or pair your meal with a local craft beer at Fountain Square Brew Company next door, the experience offers a genuine connection to Filipino culture and culinary tradition.

The main attractions here are the classic Filipino dishes like Chicken and Pork Adobo. These staples showcase tender meats simmered in a balanced mix of vinegar, soy, and spices—sweet, tangy, and savory all at once. For those craving a bite beyond the usual, the Beef Caldereta and Pork Shanghai lumpia provide rich and hearty options that remain true to homestyle flavors, evoking the nostalgia of a traditional Filipino kitchen.

Dumplings steal the spotlight in their own right. The Spicy Veggie Dumplings bring a punch without overwhelming heat, great for vegetarians craving flavor. Meanwhile, the Japchae Dumplings introduce an unexpected twist by incorporating Korean glass noodles, expanding the palate with a delicious fusion element. These selections show the food truck’s commitment to both authenticity and innovation.

Space here is casual and unpretentious, fitting the food truck model perfectly. It welcomes everyone—from families with picky kids to solo diners and friends sharing a pint. Parents will appreciate the kid-friendly offerings, while aficionados are drawn to the thoughtful, well-executed dishes that rarely disappoint. Portions are generous, ensuring a satisfying meal every time.

The customer experience is warm and straightforward. Friendly service complements the food’s home-cooked feel, creating an inviting atmosphere even in the limited space of a street-side eatery. This accessible approach to quality Filipino cuisine makes Stix N Rice a rare gem for food lovers in Indianapolis looking for a genuine taste of the Philippines without the need for a formal sit-down restaurant.

Stopped by for a quick drink at Fountain Square Brew Company and was pleasantly surprised to see the Stix N Rice menu at the bar. Being married to a Filipina I was excited to try their food (with some trepidation). I was 100% satisfied with their food. The pork on a stick, the pork Shanghai lumpia and the beef caldereta with garlic rice were served fresh and hot with little wait. The person who took my order and the person who delivered the food were both friendly and polite. If you want good eats with some great beers, I’d highly recommend this place.

Absolutely one of the best meals ever! My kids love their food eating every last bit of it! (If you have kids, you know how hard that is and what an accomplishment! Hats off to the chief!) Their honey garlic Parmesan fries are hands down out of this world!!!

I had the adobo, caldereta, lumpia, and spicy veggie dumplings. When I bit into the lumpia, I almost cried because it tastes just like my mom’s. Everything I had was beyond good and the portions are a good size. There is not a lot of Filipino food in Indy, but out of all of them I’ve tried (still in business or not) this is the best. Mmm… Sarap!

Loved the pork adobo combo tonight. I honestly love everything I’ve had there. Skewers are amazing, parm fries are sweet and savory, and I was pleasantly surprised trying something new with the dumplings. Best food to go with a beer at FSQ brewery.

The honey garlic parmesan fries-- reminds me of the classic taste of General Tso's chicken. They were excellent. Then, for the main course-- the beef smash burger. I had it as is; that's my test of whether or not the food is good on its own, and I must say... I wish they were closer to me because THAT was a delicious burger! I can't wait to try their restaurant sometime. My wife wanted to try their vegetarian option(s), but they only serve that at their home restaurant. Will be back, easily.
